Callbreak is a free, offline trick-taking card game popular in Nepal, India and other parts of Asia, and similar in spirit to Spades. Four players bid on how many hands they will win across five rounds, with the ace of spades as the unbeatable card.

No internet connection is needed, and you can choose card designs and adjust the rules to match how you play.

How to play Callbreak

Callbreak is a card game for four players. You play with a normal deck of 52 cards, and each player gets 13 cards. Look at your cards and make a bid. Your bid is the number of tricks (hands) you think you can win in that round.

You must play a card of the same suit as the first card in the trick. The highest card of that suit wins the trick. Spades are trump cards, so any spade beats cards of other suits. The ace of spades is the strongest card in the game. If you win at least as many tricks as you bid, you get points. If you win fewer, you lose points. The game has five rounds, and the player with the most points wins. If you bid eight and win all eight tricks, you win the game right away.

People call this game by different names. In Nepal, people call it Callbreak or Taash. In parts of India, people call it Lakdi, Lakadi or Ghochi. Some players call it Call Bridge or Thirteen Patti, because each round has 13 tricks. The rules for bidding, trumps and scoring stay the same. Callbreak is simple to play which is played with a deck of cards. 52 cards are randomly dealt among 4 players. Based on their card and tactics, they choose to bid between 1 to 8. Players throw card according to rule and the player with the highest card wins the hand. They need to win the hand equal to their bid amount. If not, they will have negative scores. This goes for 5 rounds and the player with highest win wins the call game. Ace of spade is the king of this game which cannot be defeated by any other card. If you can super bid and win 8 hands in any round, the game is instantly won by you.
